Der Voghormia - Catholicos Simeon of Yerevan (1763-1780)
Տէր ողորմեա. Տէր ողորմեա. Տէր ողորմեա։ Ամենասուրբ Երրորդութիւն. տուր աշխարհիս խաղաղութիւն։ Եւ հիւանդաց բժշկութիւն. ննջեցելոց արքայութիւն։ Տէր ողորմեա. The Der Voghormia is an ancient and extraordinarily beautiful Armenian sharagan (Hymn). We are accustomed to hearing it during the Divine Liturgy, before Communion, when the curtain is closed and the priest is offering his silent prayers. Though the Der Voghormia was not an original part of the Divine Liturgy, added at a later date presumably by the pontifical decision of Catholicos Simeon of Yerevan, it is has become one of the most widely recognized and beloved sharagans in the service. It is the last hymn that has been officially added to our Divine Liturgy. The Armenian prayer is coupled with a haunting piece of music that reaches the faithful on a deep spiritual level, often bringing about the feeling of intimate communication with God. It holds the power to illuminate a moment of pure spirituality. It has been said that Gomidas Vartabed began singing this hymn when the Turks came to Istanbul to round up the Armenian intellectuals, causing the Turks to freeze in their tracks and listen. With all the pain that is currently present in our world, let us beseech the Lord to grant us peace with this beautiful prayer.

«Տէր ողորմեա» հոգեթով երգի հեղինակ ընդունված է համարել Սիմեոն Ա Երևանցի (1763-1780) կաթողիկոսը: Սա բարեպաշտական մի հավելված է, որը Ժամագրքերում նշված չէ: «Տէր ողորմեա»-ն երգվում է ծնրադիր ու գլխաբաց և ավարտվում է Սուրբ Աստվածածնի բարեխոսության խնդրանքով: Սա համարվում է Հայ Եկեղեցու վերջին հավելումներից մեկը, որը երգվում է նաև Սուրբ Պատարագի վերջնամասում՝ «Ի սուրբ, ի սուրբ…» աղոթքից անմիջապես հետո: Այս երգը երգվել է այսպես կոչված «Ցասման» ժամին՝ թշնամիների հարձակում, երաշտ, բնական աղետներ և այլն՝ «Այդ երգը մեր եկեղեցւոյ մէջ վերջին յաւելուածներէն մին է, որոյ հեղինակն է Երևանցի Սիմէոն կաթողիկոս եւ թեպէտ մինչեւ հիմա գրեթէ եւ ոչ մի տպագրեալ գրքի մէջ յիշուած չէ (ի բաց առեալ Էջմիածնի վերջին Խորհրդատետրը), այսուհանդերձ ազգային բարեպաշտութեան սիրելի եւ հաճելի մեկ աղօթքն է:… Տէր Ողորմեայի վերջաբանութիւնն է Խաչի կամ Աստվածածնի կամ պատարագի միջնորդութեամբ փակել, եւ երբ առանձինն կը զրուցուի Աստուածածնի քարոզն ու աղօթքը վրայ բերելով իբրև փակում: Տէր Ողորմեայի երգեցողութեան մի պարագան ալ է ի ծունր իջնալ աղօթել» (Մաղաքիա արք.
